Steve
Ritz’s career in the fitness and nutritional fields has spanned 16
years including his current work as an Exercise Physiologist and owner
of Fitness First, Chaska. Most of his work is done at Fitness First
where he customizes exercise programs for clients and trains a range of
people from those just beginning their fitness training to professional
athletes.At Fitness First, Ritz along with a staff of other fitness professionals provide customized exercise prescriptions in a comfortable, yet challenging atmosphere. Fitness First is different from fitness facilities in that they utilize Ritz’s SEE-FIT program, a 45-minute, twice-a-week, total body workout geared toward maximizing safety (S), efficiency (E) and effectiveness (E). Using this approach, Fitness First specializes in the areas of conditioning, strength training, flexibility, and nutritional advisement. Ritz earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and a Master of Arts degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Minnesota, Mankato. He is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Some highlights in his career include Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach for the MN Vikings, and training both major and minor league players for the Cleveland Indians. Ritz has also worked with a variety of college and high school sports programs. |
